About Dean
Northwest Ontario Fishing Guide
Based in Kenora, Ontario, I have been fishing NW Ontario's "Sunset Country" and other provinces for 40 years. From Lake of the Woods to area rivers and lakes... and some unique backwoods waters... I have a good understanding of what's biting where and when.
Whether it's on open water or the ice, I am very passionate about catching fish: trophy walleyes, pike, slab crappies, lake trout, smallmouth bass, muskies, and more. But I’m also extremely passionate about helping other anglers of all ages, skill levels, and walks of life improve their fishing techniques. Not only is my goal to help you catch numbers of fish or a new personal best, I provide each client the individual guidance they need to become a better angler -- whether that's learning a new fishing technique, how to interpret your electronics, or nuances that have taken me a lifetime to figure out... I enjoy sharing what's been successful for me, as well as introducing anglers to Northwest Ontario's beauty and world-class multi-species fishing. I also enjoy putting on an authentic shore lunch for those clients who request it. Pretty hard to beat fried walleye, potatoes/onions, and beans cooked over a wood fire on a secluded island...
